The intensity, brightness and colour of northern lights can vary. In most cases, people notice green or pale green lights. One can enjoy such lights rather frequently ― even every day. When solar flares are more powerful, solar particles get into the deeper layers of the atmosphere. In such cases the most rare and the most beautiful multicoloured lights appear. They gleam green, blue, violet, yellow and other colours of a rainbow. One should be very lucky to notice such lights.
What is the best place to watch polar lights?
If you want to see northern lights, you should go out of a town ― to the place where there is little electric lighting. There you will be able to notice even slight flares in the sky, not to mention bright lights.
